Banning City Camping Trip

This post comes late because I have not been able to sit down to write about things. Alright, here's some update to what I have been up to for the last 2 weekends. First of all, I came back from Yosemite, one of America's must see list before you die. Secondly we tried camping at Banning Campsite owned by KOA. We bought from Walmart a tent that could accomodate 6 campers, 2 torchlights, a LED lantern, a propane stove and some other accessories, and off we go to Banning. We encountered gusty wind when we arrived, thus causing us to set up our tent in 2 hours, coupled with the fact that OZARK has a poor way of laying down instructions for first time campers like us. It reads with a mouthful of words and ends with an illustration and a caption that says, "This is how your tent should look like." Wow!! So much for detailed instruction!

Anyway, here are the sketches I made when I wasn't cooking or retying the strings that pulled the tent together.

Since the day's temperature was so unbearable, we did not stay in the campsite all the time. We drove to Palm's Spring and a neighboring Factory Outlet for a spin. But of course not without encountering a dead battery in our car. Fortunately our fellow campers (an Indian family) came to our rescue without us asking. We were so grateful. Eventually we managed to change our battery at Walmart (again I know) and that's the last bad thing that happen during our camping trip!! One advice: for first time campers, try to stay near civilization just to be safe.
